Board of Adjustment & Appeals - Hears appeals to decisions of administrative officers relating to the Zoning Ordinance.  Meets Quarterly and as needed when a Petition for Variance is submitted.

    Meetings - 3rd Tuesdays (January/April/July/October) at 9:30 am.

The Board of Adjustment and Appeals was established pursuant to the town's adoption of Florida Statute 163.  The Board consists of seven (7) members designated as such, and appointed by the Town Commission , each for a term of at least three (3) years.  No member shall serve for more than six (6) consecutive years.  Appointed members may miss no more than three (3) consecutive meetings.  Absence from three (3) consecutive meetings will be considered as resignation subject to automatic acceptance.

This VACANCY will be filled by the Town Commission.  No member of the board shall be an official or employee of the town                   

Code Enforcement Board - Enforces all technical codes in force in the Town of Highland Beach including, but not limited to, occupational licenses, fire, building, zoning and sign codes. 

    Meetings - 3rd - Wednesdays (Monthly) at 9:30 am.

The duties of the Code Enforcement Board can be located in Section 2, Article V of the Code of the Code of Ordinances of the Town of Highland Beach. The primary duty of the Code Enforcement Board is to ensure code compliance.  The Board consists of seven (7) members designated as such, and appointed by the Town Commission, each for a term of at least three (3) years .  No member shall serve for mire than six (6) consecutive years.  Appointed members may miss no more than three (3) consecutive meetings.  Absence from three (3) consecutive meetings will be considered as resignation subject to automatic acceptance.

Planning Board - Recommends to the Town Commission on all matters involving Town planning including, but not limited to the Comprehensive Plan, development plans, site plan reviews and special exception plans.

    Term: 3 year term

Beaches & Shores Advisory Board - Addresses beach cleanups, assist sea turtle program, review ordinances regarding beaches and turtles, address appropriate vegetation on dunes, address violations and citations within confines of the beach.  Makes recommendations to the Town Commission.

    Meetings - 2nd - Tuesdays (Monthly) at 9:30 am.

Cultural Board - Arranges for local artists, musicians and speakers to provide cultural enrichment to the residents of Highland Beach.  Also arranges traditional celebrations in honor of national and local holidays. 

    Meetings - 4th Thursdays (Monthly) at 9:30 am.

Ad Hoc Committees - From time to time, the Town Commission appoints Ad Hoc Committees and/or persons to assist or represent the Town in various special matters,  These committees are usually short-term appointments established for specific studies or evaluations.
